Dear Members and Supporters,
We’d like to introduce you to Eva – Ethical Voice for Animals – moving on from our previous name of Bunny Huggers. Eva is all about providing a common ground to campaign for animal rights and after many suggestions, we believe it best represents our values and identity in Scotland. If you’d rather call us Bunny Huggers, feel free – after all, what’s in a name?
A lot of travelling lately - last week saw us in Dundee, where we met Angus Veggies and Vegans. They cover quite a large area, and veganism in remoter areas has its own benefits and challenges. Plans to work together on The Green Fork, and a range of other activities – from websites to school talks and events. Word from the Borders for the pilot workshop to go ahead too. That will be two Green Fork workshops and meetup groups later this year. Stalls in Aberdeen scheduled too – see diary below. Get in touch if you are in Dundee/Borders/Aberdeen, or if you’d like to get active in your area - looks like a very promising and busy summer ahead!
Our meetups in Edinburgh continue to take place every other Tuesday, 7pm at Hendersons (next one on 16 Feb). We also moved servers and updated all our websites – apologies if you tried to email us and it bounced back last weekend. Check out the new News& Alerts section on the websites http://ethicalvoiceforanimals.org.uk/news.php - this will be updated regularly as we come across stories and actions that need to be urgently taken. We’ve also put together a list of fur-free sporran retailers – see http://edinburghfurfreecity.co.uk/furfree.php - this list is constantly updated, so keep checking. And if you haven’t seen them already, you can still send free EVA e-cards http://ethicalvoiceforanimals.org.uk/gcards/composeCard.php
Last but not the least, please read our donation appeal below. We appreciate your support!
